January, 2012 - See us at the BAEC Home Show at Mohegan Sun, January 8th & 9th. Sept. 8 - (3) NEW BRANDS ADDED! We have added several brands of stoves for the first time in years! We are always evaluating competitive products that have developed competitive functions and features and demonstrate quality and value! Sept. 1 - Lots to talk about! New floor clocks, wall clocks and curios from Howard Miller have arrived. We are rearranging the stove floor to accommodate several brand additions. Lots of new stock (fireplace accessories) in from Minuteman, and Dagan, Jensen/Ashley grates arrived today! We have received a huge deal on certain floor / hearth pads and these are selling at a fraction of former prices. We are also now featuring chimney liner kits from Olympia! July 15th - We made the jump to the new computer system and it's fast! Stove sales are starting to pick up steam a little earlier than usual. June-July! - We are taking a large leap. Its a major computer-system upgrade/conversion but it will allow us a more efficient information flow in assisting our customers with their needs. We are looking forward to the conversion which has been long in the making. Please bear with us during the second week of July as we will be dual system processing and continuing to train on the new system. June - We are well stocked with stoves from most of our manufacturers at the moment, but the picture could be become difficult for availability come winter. Our rationale is that due to economic conditions and market swings (tax credit initiated), stove production may be inadequate when factored into the normal upward pressures of high current energy costs, the past hard winter and Middle-East unrest. For more on this contact the store. New - We have added the Fiskars Momentum reel mower to our growing Fiskars tool llne-up. We are already very impressed with the quality and virtually indestructible splitting axes (we are stocking all models). April - ALERT! Prices on commodities are rising quickly! Manufacturers are raising prices on steel & cast products - stoves, chimney, connector pipes... everything! BUY VERY SOON to avoid increases! End of February ... Restocks and early buys are starting to arrive - at pre-season discount pricing! Given the harsh weather this past winter and the oil price run of recent weeks, it stands to reason that the set-up for a 2008-like price surge in oil may lie ahead. If so, the availability of traditional alternative energy solutions - wood & pellet stoves, inserts, or central heaters will be stretched very thin. We realize it is a little pushy to suggest you need to "hurry in" but, if oil prices come close to following the 2008 scenario, there will likely be slim pickings' by mid to late summer, if you want to buy or install a new unit.
